Mary Beth Laychak

Mary Beth is the Director of Strategic Communications for Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope and has extensive experience in communications strategy, public relations and project management. She is a collaborative leader who connects organizations to effectively achieve their common goals. Mary Beth has also served at many local schools in North Hawaiʻi and regularly partners with school administrators and teachers to enhance student learning and achievement. Mary Beth has a bachelor’s degree in astrophysics and a master’s degree in education.

Mary Beth leads the Keiki Heroes project by coordinating outreach to schools, project managing the design and production process for collateral and printed materials, developing partnership opportunities, and fundraising.

Keiki Heroes promotes health education materials that are culturally relevant and age-appropriate to support the physical, mental, emotional, and social health of children in Hawai‘i. We believe that keiki can be heroes by helping themselves and others to adopt healthy habits to support community health.
